Amman International Airport is south of the city. Buses run every 30 minutes to Abdali, the commercial district of Amman, and taxis with fixed prices are also available. If you’d prefer, you can book a transfer in advance.

Once you’re in the city centre, cabs are a popular form of transport for getting around. Although hilly, walking is a great way to see the sights and check out Amman’s famous colourful staircases.

In the mood to shop? The downtown Abdali and Galleria malls represent Amman’s modern aspirations. Or, for more authentic Middle Eastern experience, head to one the city’s many traditional souks to while away the hours and hone your bargaining skills.
