Flights to Barcelona

A flight from London to Barcelona takes approximately two hours.

You can find great deals on flights to Barcelona all year round, but the best time to pick up a bargain is outside of summer. Visit Barcelona in spring between March and May when the mild Mediterranean weather is perfect for sightseeing and experiencing the city’s festivals. Travel in autumn and you’ll still enjoy temperatures around 28°C, making it an ideal time to head to the beach and visit top attractions.

Barcelona is a city that caters to every budget, but there are plenty of options if you’re looking to save some euros. The first Sunday of every month is a great time to enjoy some cut-price culture, when museums including the Picasso Museum and the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya open their doors for free. Consider accommodation outside the city centre and instead look at cheaper neighbourhoods such as Gràcia or Sant Antoni. There’s no shortage of parks to enjoy a wallet-friendly picnic in too.

Barcelona is a city that is easily walkable, but it also has one of the best public transport systems in Europe. If you want to pack in all the main sights then the Metro is the quickest way to get around and covers the whole city, including the suburbs. If you want to head out of Barcelona on a day trip, or visit the beaches further afield, the Rodalies and FGC train networks are great options. The Rodalies is the fastest way to travel to and from the airport too.

When you return to Barcelona, ride the funicular to Montjuic, the majestic hillside that overlooks the city and its coastline. If you time it right, you’ll be able to watch the sun setting over the Mediterranean.

Citizens of the UK and Ireland and EU passport holders do not need a visa to visit Spain.
