Flights to Doha

A flight from London to Doha’s Hamad International Airport takes approximately seven hours.

Most bars in the city operate a happy hour between 5pm to 8pm each day, with drinks costing almost half their usual price. Street food is a great way to save on eating out.

And, if you’re looking to make Doha a base while you explore some of the nearby attractions outside of the city, the Karwa bus service is a reliable alternative to private transport, helping you to save a little extra.

Doha’s airport is located around five miles east of the city centre, with the state-of-the-art Metro system providing the quickest and easiest way to get there. Or choose from the fleets of taxis and limousines ready to drive you into and around the city.

The Metro’s Red, Green and Gold lines cover the whole city, while the Karwa Bus network connects Doha will all major towns.

Visitors can rent bicycles too, which offer a perfect way to explore Al Bidda Park, Aspire Park and the Olympic Cycling Track. At 33km, it’s the world’s longest continuous cycle path.

Start with the Katara Cultural Village, home to two beautiful mosques, an opera house, lush gardens and the Insta-worthy Pigeon Towers. The city is just the beginning – head out into the desert that surrounds Doha for an experience every bit as dazzling as the capital itself. Go south to Khor Al Adaid, also known as the Inland Sea. Each day a striking natural phenomenon occurs when the incoming tides turns the desert into a turquoise-blue sea. It’s a popular spot for swimming, sandboarding and overnight camping.

If you’re travelling with children, visit Desert Falls, a waterpark just an hour’s drive from Doha. It’s among the Middle East’s biggest theme parks.
