St Lucia

The lowdown

The vibrant Caribbean gem of St  Lucia offers more than just paradisiacal beaches – though the idyllic shores alone would be enough. Venture south from the lively northern shores to the stunning Gros and Petit Pitons, where lush rainforests meet breathtaking seascapes. Discover the vibrant Botanical Gardens, cool off near the Diamond Waterfall, or indulge in rejuvenating mud baths at Sulphur Springs – just be prepared for the distinctive smell.

Stay

Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa on St Lucia's south coast is an oceanfront paradise. Enjoy the adult Harmony area or family-friendly Splash with the island's largest water park . Relax in five pools, indulge in a stunning spa, and savour nine dining options and seven bars – all set within 85 acres of lush tropical gardens.

Larnaca

The lowdown

Cyprus’ third-largest city, Larnaca, blends modernity with tradition and affordability. Beyond its sunny beaches, explore salt lakes, castles, mosques, arts and heritage. Named after its 3,000 ancient tombs (larnakes), Larnaca’s city centre boasts historic goodies like the 9th Century Saint Lazarus Church, highlighting Baroque, Rococo, Byzantine and Gothic architecture.

Enjoy a Greek coffee at a charming pavement cafe or savour souvlaki, fried halloumi and fresh artichokes at local tavernas. For souvenirs, visit the potteries near the city’s medieval castle. Larnaca also serves as an ideal base for a short drive to Paphos, the 2017 European City of Culture.
