Overview
Set along a breathtaking white-sand beach in the Riviera Maya, the Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa is a popular all-inclusive resort in Mexico. It has a tropical jungle backdrop and lies close to Tulum’s ancient Mayan ruins. Spacious suites cater for both families and couples, and the resort features a jungle spa, Explorers' Kids Club and a water sports centre. There are also multiple restaurants and bars, three swimming pools (including a kids’ splash pool), and the extensive activity programme includes non-motorised water sports, varied fitness classes and movies on the beach.
Covering over 44 acres, the Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa offers direct access to a two-mile stretch of pristine beachfront on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. This beach is known as a popular nesting ground for endangered sea turtles, which the hotel actively helps to protect. You can travel four miles from the resort to Tulum’s mystical Mayan ruins and the stunning coastal landscapes at the nearby Parque Nacional Tulum. You could also hire a bike and cycle to the small town of Tulum, which boasts a bohemian atmosphere with local markets and laidback restaurants. Otherwise, you can spend time at the ecological Xel-Ha water park, less than seven miles away. Cancun International Airport is 68 miles north of the resort.
Spacious accommodation is spread throughout modern buildings and traditional hacienda-style buildings, and the inviting rooms and suites are decorated in warm tones. They all have marble-tiled floors and dark wooden furnishings, in addition to a well-appointed bathroom, a living area and a private terrace or balcony with views of the lush gardens or the Caribbean Sea. Adult-only rooms and suites are available, set within a more secluded part of the resort, and you can upgrade to a swim-out room for direct pool access. Preferred Club rooms and suites provide additional benefits, such as 24-hour concierge service, upgraded minibars and exclusive access to the Preferred Club Lounge and private beach area.

Various complimentary water sports are on offer here, too, including snorkelling, sailing, windsurfing and kayaking – while Hobie Cat sailing is available for a supplementary charge. The daily activities schedule can also include volleyball and movie screenings on the sand. If you plan to keep up your fitness regime you can use the outdoor Mayan-jungle style gym.
You’ll find three swimming pools around the resort, including a relaxation pool and a lively activities pool with a swim-up bar and inflatable climbing wall. Elsewhere, there’s a colourful splash pool for kids, complete with multiple slides and giant water buckets. Children can also spend time at the Mayan-themed Explorer's Kids Club (for 3- to 12-year-olds), where they can enjoy an array of supervised activities such as rock climbing, sandcastle competitions, treasure hunts and camping on the beach.
Adults can sign up for cooking classes, Spanish lessons or mixology workshops. There’s also a fully equipped fitness centre, and the option to take up table tennis, shuffle boarding and tennis lessons (for an additional charge). Those looking to unwind can visit the tranquil spa to indulge in a rejuvenating massage (available for a supplementary charge). You can choose a treatment in one of the beachside cabins or a glass-walled cabin, surrounded by tropical jungle foliage. There’s also the option to unwind in the hydrotherapy area, take a dip in the cold plunge pool and book a traditional Temazcal ritual. Plus, you can even learn how to make your own spa products in the pantry, using natural plants and oils from the local area.
