Overview

Atlantis The Royal is a truly luxurious, oceanfront addition to The Palm Dubai. Soon to become an iconic hotel, it provides another level of unbelievable extravagance, dreamed up by world leading designers, architects and artists. You’ll experience ultra-modern rooms, pool and signature suites, exceptional dining options – featuring celebrity chefs from around the world and a spectacular rooftop 90-metre infinity sky pool. The on-site holistic Awaken Wellness spa will rejuvenate your body, while little ones are welcomed at Atlantis Explorers Club, in addition to complimentary access to the world’s largest water park – Aquaventure, The Lost Chambers Aquarium and Skyblaze Fountain Show.

Architecturally, this resort has set a futuristic standard, unrivalled even in Dubai. Composed of vertically connected glass cases reaching 43 storeys high, it curves around the crescent of The Palm, on the edge of the Arabian Sea. The complex spans 63 hectares and is adjacent to its sister property, Atlantis The Palm. Although there’s little to pull you away from this incredible resort, many of the city’s attractions are easily accessible.

The world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, and The Dubai Mall, are around 17 miles away, while the traditional markets of Bur Dubai and Deira are both within a 23-mile radius. Meander round the maze-like Gold and Spice Souq or take your pick among the dazzling displays of fabrics in the Textile Souq, Dubai’s oldest market. Jump on an abra and delve into Dubai’s culture and history along the Dubai Creek, starting at Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, then learn about local life at Dubai Museum in the Al Fahidi Fort. The hotel is 24 miles from Dubai International Airport and 67 miles from Abu Dhabi International Airport.

The hotel’s accommodation is in the west wing of the property, spread across three towers: Sunrise, Sunlight and Sunset. Expect to find contemporary grandeur and unparalleled luxury, where state-of-the-art technology sits comfortably alongside hand-embroidered lush fabrics and heavenly hand-painted porcelain. Standard facilities include a walk-in wardrobe and dressing room, adjustable mood lighting, a Smart TV, Nespresso coffee machine, 24-hour room service, USB charging, minibar, Graff luxury toiletries and Frette bathrobes and slippers. Every stay also includes daily breakfast and complimentary access to the Atlantis Explorers Club, Aquaventure Waterpark, Lost Chambers Aquarium, Skyblaze Fountain show and the Awaken Fitness Centre with thermal facilities and outdoor lap pool.

Additional benefits for Royal Club stays include complimentary afternoon tea, evening drinks and a selection of daily refreshments and free-flowing premium alcoholic beverages served all-day, access to two Royal Club lounges, 24-hour butler service and more. Guests can also enjoy express in-room check-in and round-trip airport transfers with a Sky Pool Villa suite, boasting 118 m2 of living space and a 100 to 210 m2 terrace with a stunning infinity pool. The jewel in the hotel’s crown is most certainly the Signature Penthouse level. The spectacular four bedroom, two storey Royal Mansion connects two sides of this iconic building and features a private foyer with 100-year-old olive trees, sky-high ceilings, its very own entertainment room along with a library and bar area and Hermès in-room amenities. Unwind on the private terrace with infinity pool and outdoor kitchen or for a more formal occasion, enjoy the 12-seater indoor luxe dining setting.

Other facilities

The facilities here are impressive. Not only do you have access to 1.2 miles of private, sandy beach (the longest in Dubai), the resort is also home to two glistening outdoor pools, a children’s pool and a breathtaking rooftop infinity pool on the 22nd floor – suspended 90 metres above ground level. With views of Dubai’s city skyline on one side and the Arabian Gulf on the other, it’s not for the faint hearted. The daily limit at the sky pool is 140 people, so comfy cabanas are plentiful.

Entrance to the world’s largest water park, Aquaventure, is complimentary. The entire family can enjoy a total of 105 slides and attractions including the action-packed 48-metre tall Trident Tower, old favourites like the Leap of Faith and the adrenaline-pumping zip-line ride across the park. The Lost Chamber’s Aquarium and Dolphin Bay, by their very nature, include marine animal exhibits. Little ones will love the Splashers Kids' Play Area, a maze of kid-friendly tunnels, tubes, slides and climbing frames. In resort, children aged between 4 and 12 are welcomed at the Atlantis Explorers Club. Morning, afternoon and evening sessions offer a supervised, age-appropriate activity programme with a focus on adventure, fun and education through group play.

Exclusive to Atlantis resorts is Awaken Wellness, 5,000 metres dedicated to wellbeing, fitness, spa, regenerative medicine, aesthetics and personal styling. This luxurious haven features 17 treatment rooms, an outdoor pool and meditation pavilion, Hammam Sensorium and personal styling salons. Treatments include massage, energy therapies and facials, as well as unique hammam experiences – treating the body to black soap and kessa glove exfoliation, a grounding rhassoul wrap, golden argan scalp massage and full body hot Royal Oil massage.

The state-of-the-art fitness centre is equipped with Technogym and Outrace, a fitness studio for classes, a mindfulness pavilion and meditation garden and 25-metre lap pool. Alkemy Woman, Man and Nail Bar will have you looking your very best, while AEON Clinic is Dubai’s newest centre for life changing treatments, that will boost your health and enhance your way of living.

Outside is the Skyblaze Fountain, an attraction in itself, rising 28 metres into the air. Every evening, a dramatic fire-meets-water show is conducted, inspired by the elements, complemented by music written exclusively by the Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer.

The jewel in the crown is the hotel’s rooftop venue, Cloud 22. In the sky, on the 22nd floor, it features VIP cabanas and private plunge pools, a swim-up bar and head-shaped DJ booth. As the sun sets, head over to Heston Blumenthal’s signature cocktail bar, Resonance, featuring a 21-foot-high aquarium filled with 4,000 moon jellyfish.
