Overview
The all-inclusive St James's Club & Villas by Elite sprawls across a tranquil 100-acre peninsula on Antigua’s south eastern coast. Despite its considerable size, the resort maintains a laidback and intimate atmosphere with its extensive tropical gardens, six distinct pool areas and two white-sand beaches. You can sunbathe on the peaceful shores of Mamora Bay, snorkel along the waters of Coco's Beach, participate in a plethora of fitness activities and retreat to the hillside spa. Meanwhile, children have their own swimming pool, games zone, kids’ club and dedicated teens’ area. The resort’s numerous restaurants and bars also cater for families with options to suit everyone.
St James’s Club & Villas lies on a secluded peninsula, surrounded by verdant hills and turquoise dappled waters. Mamora Bay’s calm waters are ideal for swimming, while the Caribbean waters on Coco's Beach are full of colourful marine life, making it a great spot for snorkelling. English Harbour is just four miles away, home to yacht-filled marinas and the UNESCO-protected site of Nelson’s Dockyard. From here, you can head up to Shirley Heights Lookout for spectacular sunset views across Antigua. St John’s, the island's capital, is around 13 miles away, while V.C. Bird International Airport is less than 15 miles from the resort.
The spacious accommodation is decorated in a contemporary Caribbean style, with hardwood furnishings, tropical artwork and soft blue accents. Rooms and suites are situated in the club area of the resort, all complete with a private furnished terrace or balcony. Ground-floor beachfront accommodation provides direct beach access to the beach, while the upper-floor beachfront accommodation overlooks the beach. Meanwhile, the two- and three-bedroom villas are perched on the hillside above Mamora Bay, offering additional space and privacy. Each villa includes a living room, a full kitchen and sliding glass doors that open onto an expansive outdoor terrace with sun loungers and a dining table.

Other facilities
The six outdoor swimming pools include a central pool with a poolside bar, a dedicated kids’ pool and a three-tiered tranquillity pool for adults only. You can also relax in gazebos around the lush grounds or sunbathe on two white-sand beaches. To conserve energy, hop on the complimentary golf cart shuttle, which runs across the entire 100-acre peninsula throughout the day.
Along Mamora Bay Beach, you’ll find plenty of sun loungers and palapa-topped parasols. The bay’s calm, crystalline waters invite everyone to swim and try complimentary non-motorised water sports, including kayaking, paddleboarding and pedal boating. Although the waters of Coco Beach can be a bit rougher, more experienced swimmers can enjoy unrivalled snorkelling experiences here for a supplementary charge. Alternatively, you can embark on a catamaran excursion from the resort’s marina for an additional fee.
Enjoy the resort’s impressive sports facilities, which include four floodlit tennis courts, three outdoor pickleball courts and an air-conditioned fitness centre with Cybex cardio and weight training machines. You can also sign up for yoga classes in the adjacent pavilion, participate in an aqua aerobics session in the pool or practise your moves during Caribbean dance lessons.
Children between 4 and 12 years old will appreciate the kids’ club, where experienced staff supervise diverse activities, such as beach games, nature walks, art classes and movie nights. Elsewhere, there’s a teens’ club with pool tables, ping-pong tables and arcade-style games.
After trying different activities, you might want to book a specialist sports massage or a warm bamboo fusion massage to relieve aching muscles at the Tranquillity Body & Soul Spa. It's perched on the hillside and boasts several treatment rooms that overlook the breathtaking bay. Their spa menu also incorporates body therapies and anti-ageing facials, many of which use natural spa products by Pevonia. All spa services incur an additional charge.
