Overview
Villa La Massa is a 16th century architectural gem, built as a country home for an aristocratic Florentine family then transformed during the 1950s into a five-star, luxurious, boutique hotel.
Sitting majestically on the banks of the Arno River, it is a countryside oasis located between Florence and the Chianti Rufina wine region. It's hard to imagine that it's just four miles east of Florence and Peretola airport can be reached in just over nine miles. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle that runs to and from the Ponte Vecchio up until 8pm, and takes approx. 20 minutes. It is also ideally located close to the 'Firenze Sud' exit of the A1 motorway, providing easy access to Rome and Bologna.
A member of The Leading Hotels of The World, Villa La Massa became part of the Villa d’Este Hotels in 1998. Its five buildings – the Villa Nobile, the Mill, the Villino, the Casa Colonica and the Limonaia were lovingly restored. The first two reflect the spirit of the Renaissance, furnished with rich frescoes and tapestries, silks and brocades and canopy beds. While the other three are beautifully furnished in a more contemporary Florentine style.

Dining information
Il Verrocchio restaurant is located in the Mill and it is the estate’s oldest structure. Breakfast is served on the terrace, overlooking the Arno, and includes fresh fruit, cheeses, Tuscan cured meats, cereals, yogurt, organic jams and marmalade, fresh scrambled eggs and Prosecco. Evenings are by candelit, providing a refined atmosphere to complement Tuscan specialities. Its gorgeous windows permit guests to enjoy views of the Arno and the surrounding Chianti hills during any season. The cellar is rich with fine Italian and regional wines.
The more casual Tuscan Bistrot, located in the Noble Villa, offers an all-day menu and a cosy ambience. Stop for an aperitivo at the Medicean Bar, serving signature cocktails, a wide selection of grappe (Italian eau-de-vie), whiskies and brandies.
