Overview
Built as a bank, The Bank Hotel in Istanbul has been given a slick modern facelift to become its on-the-rise neighbourhood’s cool cultural hub. It’s gained a spa, plenty of elegant decor and an in-house art curator, but kept the stately bank facade (and the imposing vaults that give it its name).
Highlights:
Beautiful historic building
Cool art-and-culture focus
Exciting neighbourhood

A traditional 'evil-eye bead', a box of chocolates, a welcome drink, plus early check-in and late check-out until 2pm (subject to availability)

Dining information
Restaurant:
The Lobby Bar & Restaurant serves up Modern Mediterranean dishes – grilled salmon, perhaps, or a simple slice of burrata with tomato carpaccio and balsamic vinegar – below its grand wrought-iron chandeliers; hotel guests get a 15 per cent discount. For a slightly more sophisticated evening meal, head to Serica Restaurant where each item is curated by Chef Yigit Alicioglu and inspired by the cuisine of the Silk Road. Start with a dry-aged sturgeon before moving on to the saffron-infused truffle rice or honey and garlic-glazed shrimps paired with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc.
Top Table:
Grab one of the private apple-green upholstered booths, with illuminated and laser-etched glass panels.
Last Orders:
You can breakfast 7am–10.30am (11am on weekends), lunch from noon and dine 6pm–10pm at the Lobby Bar & Restaurant. Dinner at Serica Restaurant is from 6.30pm to midnight; the Bank Roof Bar is open until 2am.
Room Service:
Snacks – burgers, fries, spaghetti and the like – are available whenever you’re peckish, day or night.
Hotel Bar:
Venture up to the hotel's top floor for a hand-shaken cocktail at the Bank Roof Bar, where you're invited to sip a martini and admire sweeping city views. The circular gold bar, with a drinks cabinet set in one of the original bank vaults, is within the restaurant.
