Go through Mooi River tollgate, take Exit No 132 from the N3 'Nottingham Road'. Turn right at the T-junction and proceed straight on for 8 km until the R103 reaches Nottingham Road Village. Proceed in the direction of and through Balgowan on the R103 for a further 17 km, and the Hotel is on the left hand side. Travel time from JNB is approximately 4 hours. Once you reach Durban, look out for and take the N3 towards Pietermaritzburg. Travel past Pietermaritzburg and Howick. Take the Howick North / Tweedie turnoff (exit 107). Turn left at the T-junction (turning right takes you over the highway) and follow the tar road to a second T-junction (Zenex garage on your left hand side). Turn right and continue on this tar road for 11 km - R103 Old Main Road. This road will take you past Lions River, Lidgetton and Granny Mouse is signposted on the righthand side.
Granny Mouse Country House & Spa is part of the famous Midlands Meander which is an association that has existed for the last 25 years. It is made up of a collective of businesses that showcase a wide range of artists, potters, weavers, leather-workers, antiques, glass, kite-making, wood turner's, furniture makers, cheese, wine, chocolate and the list goes on, The history and heritage of the area includes The Howick Falls revered by the San people, the Scottish influence in Fort Nottingham, the European history of the 1880 settler's and the official capture site of Nelson Mandela. The area has an wide range of sporting and outdoor activities including golf courses, walking, birding, canopy tours, biking, hiking, fishing, game walks, paintball, sailing, clay pigeon shooting and various child friendly activities. The Midlands is famous for horses predominantly studs, with horse riding facilities and our very own horse-whisperer.
