Overview
Sloping down the hillside with far-reaching Aegean Sea views, Mitsis Summer Palace is a chic all-inclusive getaway next to the party-loving resort town of Kardamena. Stylish, modern accommodation features spa-like bathrooms and upgraded room types with private plunge pools. Two infinity pools and wooden ‘nests’ offer inviting spots to relax with beautiful views, while an entertainment programme provides plenty of fun for families – plus, you’ll have access to a kids’ pool and water slides at a neighbouring Mitsis resort.
This resort is located on the southern coast of Kos, positioned above a pebbly stretch of beach, on which sun loungers, umbrellas and an inviting snack bar can be found. It’s four miles from the popular, buzzing resort town of Kardamena, where you can chill on the long sandy beach by day and visit the generous selection of bars, tavernas, restaurants and nightclubs on the Bar Street strip in the evenings. It’s also 18 miles from Kos Town and only eight miles from Kos Airport.
Classy accommodation feels bright, with a blend of pale oak and deep walnut woods, white walls and light furnishings – with pops of olive and terracotta. Bathrooms are elegant, with brass hardware and walk-in rainfall showers. Superior rooms offer views of the sea, while Junior Suites are larger and feature garden or sea views. You’ll get the most space in a Sea View Suite, offering an open-plan bathroom and a spacious open-plan seating area. Within each category, you can upgrade for a private pool on your balcony or terrace, furnished with thick padded azure sun loungers.

Other facilities
Two saltwater infinity pools are stacked along the resort hillside, lined with dark wooden decking and sea blue sun loungers. If you’re seeking seclusion, look out for the ‘nests’ that stretch along the hillside – these wooden slatted, cabana-style hideouts have a padded base for reclining on. Some are cantilevered over the hill, offering sea views and a netted section, much like that of a catamaran trampoline, where you’ll feel like you’re floating above the Mediterranean scrub.
Indoors, there’s a gym, with aerobics, yoga and Pilates classes available, as well as a sauna. If you’re seeking a little pampering, you can access the Sapphire Spa at sister hotel, Mitsis Blue Domes Resort & Spa, which is 900 metres northeast of the hotel, or around a 15-minute stroll. The Sapphire Spa menu proffers a range of signature treatments in partnership with Phytomer, from holistic face, body and mind packages to ‘Designer’ massages and contouring facials.
If you’re travelling with children, a Mini Club for ages 4 to 11 and a Teens Club for ages 12 to 16 (during July and August only) keeps young ones occupied with activities, games, crafts, sports and movies. You’ll also have access to a kids’ pool and water slide at Mitsis Norida Beach Hotel, which is 550 metres from the resort – approximately a ten-minute walk away. For all ages, the resort also hosts multilingual entertainment teams, offering sporting activities, as well as games, musicals, comedy, competitions and regular DJ sets.
Dining information
Taking its name from the beautiful Aegean views it offers, Panorama restaurant serves an early continental breakfast, a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner and late-night hot and cold dishes. In the mornings, wake up to Greek yoghurt, honey and pastries, as well as hot egg dishes, then return at lunchtime for salads, soups and grilled bites. In the evenings, theme nights and signature Greek dishes are available. During the day, beside the sea, Zia serves light bites including gyros, hot dogs and salads. In the afternoons, The Med offers self-service pizzas and pastries, while in the evenings you’ll find a la carte Mediterranean cuisine – from risotto to gnocchi. Tucked away, the Den is the perfect setting for sipping a cocktail and if hunger strikes, you can even sit at the communal barbecue tables and grill your own bites to eat.
Bars include the Med pool bar, where you can order refreshments from your sun lounger and Baywatch Beach Bar, where cooling slushies can be found. Don’t miss Dusk bar on the roof terrace, where Japanese-Peruvian fusion bites can be enjoyed with views of the town.
