Select floor 16 for a rooftop bar set to wow with Manhattan vistas, or head underground for a knees-up at Loosies nightclub.
The hotel sits on the corner of Bowery and Broome, in the vicinity of Lower Manhattan’s greatest treasures. The area is brimming with galleries, foodie haunts and nightlife waiting to be discovered. Within half a mile, you’ll find Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art, the Museum of Ice Cream and the immersive Color Factory. There’s plenty of shopping opportunities nearby, including Bloomingdales which is 600 metres away. For a dose of nature, Elizabeth Street Garden is just two blocks north. Otherwise, Bowery or Grand Street Subway stations are just over 100 metres away to whisk you further afield. John F. Kennedy International Airport is 15 miles from the hotel.
The feast-for-your-eyes interiors impress with quirky colours and patterns wherever you look. It starts in the catwalk-style lobby, where self-check-in desks await, moving to the small, yet space-conscious rooms. Beds dressed in 300 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets double up as suitcase storage, and the ingenious pipe system provides a TV, a mirror, hanging space and a foldaway desk – just big enough for a laptop and a mouse. The 50-inch TV comes with access to streaming apps as well as Bluetooth speakers, and there’s a retro phone hung on the wall. Lava stone sinks are in the room and a walk-in shower and toilet is separated by a coloured glass screen. Fast Wi-Fi, USB ports, a hairdryer, an in-room safe and a garment steamer complete the amenities. It’s worth noting there are no coffee machines, but you can get your caffeine fix in the lobby or the cafe.
