Villa Agrippina, a Gran Melià Hotel brings 21st century luxury to the site of the ancient imperial residence of Emperor Nero’s mother, Agrippina. Located between the Vatican City and Riber Tiber, you’ll find an unrivalled location in the Eternal City, as well as a sought-after city-centre outdoor pool and the My Blend by Clarins Spa.

The hotel's privileged location is just half a mile to the east from Vatican City, home to St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums, and half a mile south of Castel Sant’Angelo, views of which can be spied from the hotel grounds. Rome’s world-famous Colosseum is less than two miles across the river, and the Pantheon, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain are even closer. Fiumicino Airport is just over 18 miles away.

Inside the peach-tinted building, chic and grand décor is found throughout, starting with the lobby, featuring pale tones and a marble desk. Rooms embrace a modern take on classical Italian style – Renaissance-style paintings and drapery adorn each, while a neutral block-colour scheme keeps the look contemporary. Beside the outdoor pool, Gala Pool Bar & Restaurant provides light meals, healthy options and refreshments among lemon and olive trees. Set in a former church, Amaro is now the location of a chic cocktail lounge, offering cobalt-blue décor and pre- and post-dinner drinks, as well as lunch, light dishes and smooth tunes.
