Overview
Serenely positioned on a 148-acre private peninsula in Mauritius, the five-star deluxe Constance Prince Maurice is sandwiched between a natural lagoon and the Indian Ocean. The manicured tropical grounds lead to two white sand beaches, where you’ll find some of the 89 suites and villas. The other accommodation stretches over the lagoon on stilts. This spacious resort houses extensive facilities, including a luxury spa, a kite surfing school, a beachside infinity pool and an exciting kids’ club. Plus, there’s a romantic floating restaurant, a unique wine cellar and complimentary green fees two 18-hole, championship golf courses at the nearby sister resort, Constance Belle Mare Plage.
The Constance Prince Maurice sits on a north-facing peninsula in the secluded Poste de Flacq area of Mauritius. It’s bordered by tropical mangrove forests and unspoilt beaches on the outskirts of Bras D'Eau National Park. A natural fish conservation reserve is situated in the lagoon area, and the main beach provides direct access to the Indian Ocean, where you can swim and take up water sports. You can also enjoy a round of golf on the Links and Legends golf courses at Constance Belle Mare Plage resort, less than five miles away. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport lies in the south-east of the island, around 36 miles from the property, and transfers from the airport to the hotel take around one hour.
The elegant suites and villas are traditionally decorated with wooden floors, thatched roofs, seashell artwork and colourful Mauritian textiles. The modern bathrooms feature a marble-topped double vanity sink, a rainfall shower and a separate bathtub. Junior Suites are located in the tropical gardens by the beach – or on stilts above the tranquil lagoon; and special family suites comprise a main en-suite bedroom, a sitting area and a separate children’s room with bunk beds and a separate bathroom. Overwater Lagoon villas offer even more space, with a separate living and dining room, while the beachfront villas boast direct beach access and a private plunge pool on the terrace. The expansive Princely Villas are the most luxurious in resort, set directly on the beach with two private heated pools, three separate terraces, three bedrooms, private butler service and more.

Other facilities
The main beach stretches along the north of the property, where sunloungers and palapa-style umbrellas line the soft white sands. A water sports centre invites you to participate in complimentary activities – such as paddleboarding, water skiing, snorkelling and kayaking – and there’s the opportunity to take up kite surfing, scuba diving and guided water sports lessons for a supplementary charge.
The gorgeous infinity pool edges the beach, flowing past cabanas, sunloungers and a poolside bar. The lap pool is nestled further in the grounds, providing a peaceful atmosphere with palm trees, lush lawns and direct beach access. When you’re through lounging in the sunshine, visit the elegant Constance Spa, tucked in a tranquil corner of the resort. There’s a central heated pool in the relaxation courtyard, in addition to a sauna, steam room and cold plunge pool. The extensive spa menu lists a tempting range of massages, facials and body treatments, available for an additional fee. This includes classic treatments that use organic products from the Indian Ocean, exclusive Sisley phyto-aromatic treatments and a Brice Nicham range of pedicures and manicures.
If you’re feeling active, exercise with cardio equipment at the gym, sign up for a private yoga lesson (for a charge) or play a round of tennis on one of two floodlit courts. You can also rent bicycles to explore the area or perfect your putt at the on-site putting green. Plus, you’ll have exclusive access to two 18-hole championship golf courses at Constance Belle Mare Plage, which is easy to reach with a complimentary shuttle service from the hotel throughout the day. Both championship courses offer complimentary green fees and spectacular scenery, which is why they were chosen to host the prestigious MCB Tour Championship.
The hotel’s family-friendly features include a complimentary kids' club, babysitting service (available for an extra charge) and dedicated children’s menus in restaurants. The Constance Kids Club, for 4 to 11-year olds, is complete with indoor and outdoor play areas. There’s a fun splash pool and outdoor playground, and lots of open play areas inside. The engaging, qualified staff here organise cooking classes, movie screenings, art activities and various games.
Dining information
On-site dining options include the elegant Barachois, a romantic floating restaurant that specialises in authentic flavours from the Indian Ocean. You’ll stroll along a candlelit boardwalk, passing lush mangroves, to reach the restaurant’s intimate deck. On the way, you can stop by the Floating Bar to relish cocktails and sparkling wine, amidst an idyllic backdrop of calm waters and distant mountains.
The warm and inviting Archipel restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wrapped around the main pool, it offers open views across the beach and Indian Ocean. The restaurant serves fresh seafood and dishes with a Mauritian twist, and in-house sommeliers can pair fine wines with your food. You can also feast on fresh sushi, sashimi and dim sum at Asian, which opens for lunch and dinner. The Lotus Lounge Bar is ideal for aperitifs, and Laguna Bar conveniently offers fresh juices and exquisite cocktails by the pool and beach.
You should head to the cosy Wine Cellar at least once during your stay – to taste one of the 25,000 plus bottles, sourced directly from vineyards across the world. Alternatively, you can book a private candlelit dinner along the beach.
Additional information
All three restaurants have a daytime and evening dress code. Swimwear, bikinis, sleeveless tee shirts and sarongs are not accepted in any of the restaurants. For dinner, tee shirts, shorts, faded jeans, sandals and sports shoes are not permitted in any of the restaurants.
