Overview
Sandals Royal Barbados is a luxury all-inclusive resort, designed exclusively for couples. The resort offers stunning all-suite accommodation – some with dedicated butler service. You’ll find an idyllic sandy beachfront, pristine rooftop pool and a first-class spa complex. You can also enjoy quality time with your partner whilst embracing the many activities on offer, from water sports to yoga sessions and even bowling.
Located on the south coast’s Maxwell Beach, the hotel boasts a scenic setting along a stretch of powdery sand coastline and turquoise waters. You can walk to the lively St Lawrence Gap (under a mile away) to embrace local life and experience alternative dining and entertainment. In the opposite direction, less than two miles away, lies the vibrant village of Oistins. Head here to sample the fresh catch of the day at the ‘Friday Night Fish Fry’. Transfers to Grantley Adams International Airport are just under seven miles.
All rooms – which are referred to as suites – are generously sized and elegantly decorated. They are outfitted with pale wooden furniture and feature contemporary white tones. Subtle hints of blue and grey can be found in the artwork and soft furnishings. In all suites, you will find crisp white bed linen (100% cotton) atop of king-sized beds, inviting seating areas and complimentary minibars. Floor-to-ceiling windows create an airy feel and give access to private balconies or patios, which feature special tranquillity soaking tubs for two. Bathrooms are spacious, with walk-in rain showers, double vanity units and Turkish ivory stone floors.
Rooms types are divided into separate categories: Luxury, Club Level, Butler Class and Love Nest Suites. Butler and Love Nest Suites feature personal butler service and exclusive amenities. Upgrade to a swim-up suite for direct, zero-entry access to an infinity pool or choose oceanfront suites with superior views. Royal Rondoval Butler Suites boast a lavish private pool sanctuary, which can be directly accessed from the bedroom.

Sandals Royal Beach provides an abundance of activities for you to enjoy. The expansive and beautiful beachfront is ideal for both relaxation and beach fun. Head here to try a selection non-motorised water sports, from paddle boarding to canoeing, and kayaking or boogie boarding. You can also take a trip out on the glass bottom boat and snorkel in crystal clear waters. A comprehensive scuba diving programme is also included at the hotel (free for certified divers).
Away from the water, there’s a fitness centre and yoga pavilion, as well as space to play beach volleyball, cricket, table tennis and pool. You can’t miss Lovers Lane, the intimate bowling alley which features four lanes and a bar which serves signature cocktails whilst you play.
After all the action, unwind in one of the tranquil lounge areas or take a dip in a choice of three freshwater swimming pools (and two whirlpools). This includes the impressive glass infinity pool and the zero-entry rooftop pool which boasts stunning ocean vistas. Order refreshments from the rooftop bar or make the most of friendly poolside service. To completely rejuvenate, you can’t beat a visit to Red Lane Spa, which offers a full range of specialist treatments from Caribbean seaweed body wraps to soothing couples’ massages. You can also book a selection of beauty treatments here, although men might prefer a pamper at the on-site men’s barbershop – The Clip Yard.
In the evenings, revel in nightly entertainment by the beach or pool – whether it’s a live band, beach party, chocolate buffet night or manager’s cocktail party. You can also head to the sister resort next door to experience its restaurants, bars, entertainment, beach and all other amenities.
Dining information
At Sandals Royal Barbados, you can look forward to delicious culinary experiences ranging from casual beachfront snacking to fine dining. For breakfast order fresh pastries from the French a la carte menu at Parisienne (also open for dinner) or enjoy bounteous buffet favourites at American Tavern (open for breakfast, lunch and dinner). Relish a light Mediterranean lunch at Neptune’s, a specialist seafood restaurant, and enjoy succulent steaks at Butch’s Steak and Seafood in the evening. There’s also Chi, a modern Asian-fusion restaurant, The Greenhouse which features modern, farm-to-table dishes including plant-based options and Heart & Sol, a New York style deli.
Jerk Shack is a casual eatery, open throughout the day. Try local delicacies here such as Bajan fritters, jerk chicken and roast breadfruit. Those with a sweet tooth will struggle to resist the temptations at Sweet n’ Salty’s donut and coffee shop. Enjoy premium liquors and signature cocktails at the five bars around the property, including Craft Beer Bar where you can sample beers from all round the world.
As part of the Dine Around Barbados programme, you can also extend your dining options for free at the neighbouring Sandals Barbados resort. There’s a selection of 11 more restaurants and seven more bars.
Additional information
The dress code is mostly resort casual, which specifies that swimwear must be covered. Shirts and footwear are also required in bars and restaurants.
In the evenings, some restaurants require resort evening attire. This means men should wear dress trousers or jeans and long or short sleeve dress shirts (with or without collar). Dress shoes or sandals should be worn. Shorts, t-shirts, sleeveless shirts, trainers, hats, flip flops or slippers are not considered as appropriate evening attire.
